I am an eternal optimist and a romantic at heart. I love children, and my favorite times are spent playing with them, observing their curiosity about the world, and watching their minds develop. I am a database manager by profession, and can get bogged down in being too analytical and looking at a life in the minutae, not seeing the big picture. I try to balance that by laughing, playing (sledding and building snowmen, for example), or playing with my cat - these things refresh me. I am embarking on a reinvigorated interest in writing a memoir about an adoption experience I had years ago. People have told me to write my feelings out in a memoir or devotional format, and I have been hesitant to share such a personal experience with
the world until now - it made me feel vulnerable, and I shunned that. My beloved mother passed away at the age of 69 in december 2008, and her passing is the catalyst for my refreshed desire to complete my own story. I find now that it is time for me to complete it, both for my own inner peace, and as a legacy for the child it is written about.
